Kelly Montoya - Mostly Feelings

Following the best New York female singer/songwriter tradition, first that comes to mind are Suzanne Vega and Pepi Ginsberg, Kelly Montoya on her debut EP showcases her fragility and strength at the same time, trying to dig deeper into herself to find answers to unspeakable questions. I doubt she'll find the answers, but introspective selfsearch is satisfactory enough not only for herself but for dedicated listener. Try to be one HERE

Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Americana

We all know how mush Neil Young's music depends on American tradition. Although he was giving tribute to American traditional music throughout his long and meandering career, comes a time to show that it is two-way street. What is he doing on this album? He is revitalizing some of the most worn-out tunes of American music tradition appealing only to children not older than three and transforming them into new form (but the same content) acceptable for the generations to come. Before I finish, just one remark - the decision to include God Save the Queen here is a mystery to me, it's completely out of context and unnecessary. Despite of that, it's great album, surely in the upper half of Neil Young's extensive catalog.

PS - sorry, the mistake is all mine, English hymn is also part of American tradition, so please forget the complete sentence about God Save the Queen!
