VA - The First Rock and Roll Record

Interesting compilation about the roots of Rock'n'Roll. First CD is dedicated to the mentions of words "Rock" or "Rockin'" and "Roll" or Rollin'". The first ever song with this two words was the first song on CD1 sang by unknown group with the verse "We've been rocking an' rolling in your arms, rockin' and rolling in your arms, in the arms of Moses,". Nomen est omen, as old Latin proverb is saying, so the mention of the words "rock" and "roll" resembles the rock'n'roll itself, and as a result we have here some songs that we recognize as predecessors of rock'n'roll. The CD2 contains real predecessors of Rock'n'Roll, songs from other genres (blues, jazz, pop, country, bluegrass) whose influence is obvious. The CD3 contains real Rock'n'Roll, including a song widely known as the first rock'n'roll record Rocket ’88 by Jackie Brenston And His Delta Cats (one of the Delta Cats was Ike Turner, who later become famous with his wife Tina Turner). Compilation ends with the uncrowned king of rock'n'roll, the one and only Elvis Aaron Presley!
